Did you have a Happy Christmas?

I know I did! I received many gifts which you are sure to know about on this blog. They will be reviewed extensively, so keep visiting to find out about them. Also, I have some exciting news: a fellow blogger might join up with this blog! If so, then there will be more reviews and interesting stuff on the blog than ever before! Anyway, back to the gifts, among them were the Supernova Exo-Force Lego Model (see right), and (see picture below) an iPod Nano! The Nintendo DS game Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team is now in my possession, so a review will be coming soon. Keep visiting!

Yes!

Now my Neopets look so cool. If you visit my userlookup, or just keep reading on, you'll find out why! As you might or might not know (you will now anyway), I have been saving up for ages, to buy something. Finally, my chance came, and for 91,920 np, or something around that, I bought a vile-looking potion. Yeah ok, it's probably not safe, and it may have some after-effects, but look what it did to dementedfrog205, he looks so cool!

+ =

Also, it's good news on itsagoal.com. My team in now eleventh in the table. We have had two smashing wins. We beat one team five goals to one! Then the next match, we win four goals to none! We are on a rampage now. Do you think we will make it to the top?

Finally!

Woohoo! It's finally over. My school term's over and it's the christmas holidays once again! I've been keeping up with the advent calendar too. I've been having a great run on itsagoal.com too. Now my team is 13th (my team is called J United), although 13 is an unlucky number, so that is a bit ominous... Anyways, I'll be sorting out labels for the blog, so.. yeah. See ya.

Stuff...

I've not been doing much lately, don't know why. I've mostly been on Neopets, updating my shop, and buying new stuff (see picture on left). That's a new petpet for dementedfrog205, it's called an Abominable Snowball. My other petpet, for redeagle205 it's called a Mallard (see picture on right). They're basically just toys for you neopet, or pets. Also, your petpet can get a pet too, it's called a petpetpet (wow, what a hard name to guess), but they're really hard to come buy, or expensive to buy. I am keeping up with the advent calendar too. Also, on itsagoal.com, my team is on a role. We were last, but now we're fifteenth! Yeah! Can we keep it up?

Fifa 07 (PS2) - The Review

In this post, football means soccer to anyone who thinks this is about American Football.

Fifa 07, which is available on most consoles, is a video game that lets you play football matches, that are very similar to the real thing. As well as that, you have the opportunity to create a player, and inject them into the game, letting them play for your favourite club. There is also a Manager Mode, in which you can manage your favourite teams, do transfers, renew the players contacts and find new undiscovered talent. (It is similar to itsagoal.com, except you actually play the matches, and there aren't as many things to do, like training, and stuff like that). There are online game modes, in which you can play other people across the globe!

After the brilliant Fifa 06 was released, EA had a lot to do to improve the game even more. There have been a few things added, some improvements, others, well, not so good. Firstly, a new kind of shot has been added. They had the normal shot, then the chip shot, and now the Fitnesse Shot! Basically, while holding L2 when shooting, the player reduces power, but increases accuracy. Unfortunately, I have found this ineffective, so it is not much to talk about.

The table colours, and the general graphics have been updated. The game runs smoother, but there have been a few stutters, and jumps whilst I have been playing, and something else strange has happened. When playing, the game suddenly freezes, and my PS2 emits this strange buzzing noise. It is very creepy, and has happened twice to me, but it might just be my old PS2.

Manager Mode has been majorly updated, with more things to do, like finding new talent, in the youth academy, player growth (when a player gets better after a playing a match), financial predictions, and real money (euros, dollars or pounds) for the first time! In general gampeplay - this applies to manager mode too - substitutions are needed more often, not just for injuries, as players gradually tire throughout games. In addition, there is something new which is really useful. A yellow dot appears on the ground, wherever the ball will bounce for the first time. This is very useful, meaning that you can move your players to the right place, if the ball is off, or very high up the screen.

Like on the Nintendo DS, version, Fifa 07 allows you to create a club. This would be good, but unlike on the DS, it is impossible to have a team of created players, as there are only sixteen slots for created, so if you want a dream team, they would have to be at least a few of the best players on the game, who still fail in comparison to the mighty created players (who's stats are all maxed out, if you want them to be)! But, you can use your club in Manager Mode, and decide how much money they can start with.

There are some bad bits though as well, the new corner system is probably degraded from it's predecessor, as well as the goal kick system. The game also uses the same dreadful direct free-kick system, and I have never ever received an indirect one. Finally, I have noticed that it is now possible for your team to do handballs too, even though that isn't a benefit, I just thought I'd put it in there. :)

So here we go, Fifa 07, the sequel to Fifa 06.

Is it better? Yes, but only just, not as much as an improvement as I would have liked, the yellow dot where the ball bounced won it for me.

Who is this game best for? Well, apparently, the Pro-Evolution Soccer games are the best, but I am a long time Fifa fan, so I would buy it. Anyway, as long as you like football, this game is good for you. There is no particular age range.

What's the rating then? I would give it 8 out of 10, a good score, making it a good game, but there is still room for improvement. Still well worth buying!

Coming up...

Hey everyone, I've not been doing much recently. I'm not sick anymore - yay! I've done quite a lot of random stuff. Rping on Neopets, having lots of new stuff come, so a lot will be coming on the blog soon. :) I keep finding 1000 np on the floor. Also, it's now advent, so the Neopets advent calendar is up! Click here to go there, or the picture on your right is a screen shot. I opened my advent calendar - a Darlek one.

Bleh!

Bleh! I'm a bit sick today, and I'm not really enjoying it. I won't go into the details, but this gives me more time to play on Neopets, and there is one big difference I think I should show you. In the games section of Neopets, there
has been a large change. Someone called the Games Master has challenged all of neopia, setting Neopians challenges. If they are completed, the person who completed it shall receive a prize. (I have done 2 challenges so far). Also, the section has been completely re-modeled. Click here to see. Note: The link has now expired.

Happy Birthday!

Loads of stuff is happening on Neopets. They're celebrating their seventh birthday, so there is a whole new sidebar, just for the day! Go here to see it (it is too late to see the different sidebar now), or why not sign up, just for the occasion. Then you get to see my brand new lookup, just because I have been on
Neopets for more than 40 months! Come and see! My lookup is from ticklishdesigns.com.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

Aside from doing creepy cheats on my old Pokemon Blue game (such as MissingNo.), I watched the first episode of the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon anime. To be honest, I wasn't very impressed. Although this was primarily because it was aimed at the young generation (3-8 years old). The Pokemon acted as if they were young, had silly voices, and the bad guys weren't exactly bad.

If you don't know what Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is, here's the lowdown:
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (Blue rescue team for Nintendo DS, and Red rescue team for GameBoy Advance), are 2 new video games, that expand the world of Pokemon. In the game, there are NO HUMANS AT ALL!!! You just play wild Pokemon, which have formed rescue teams to help Pokemon in danger. The main character (the player), is originally a human, but one day wakes up as a Pokemon. You meet other Pokemon, who form a rescue team with you. It's your job to save wild Pokemon in need, and unravel the mystery of why you're one! It's on my Christmas list!

GRRRRRRRR!!!

I've been playing on my Pokemon LeafGreen, for hours on end, with hardly any stopping. I'm desperately trying to capture Chanseys, but not just normal ones, ones that are holding a lucky egg. These Pokemon are rare enough, but only 5% of them have a lucky egg! (Facts and figures from psypokes.com). The only reason I have a picture of a lucky egg is because my brother has one on his game (even though it is a rubbish image), and he won't give it to me :( If you know how to get one easily, please, please tell me!!!

Lookie Here

See this mean Lego Vikings catapult that I bought for only about £15! When you twist a crank it goes into rapid fire! I don't know how to video it and get it onto the blog for you, so this image will have to do. It takes 6 Lego men to pull it, as well as one brave Viking leader to command them. I hope the picture is in high definition. See ya round!

P.S: I hope you all had a spooky Halloween, I had a happy one - no "trick-or-treaters"!

Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy (PS2) - The Review

This is the review for Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy (PS2). Anyway, let me give you the background. We've all seen the brilliant Star Wars movies, and Lego sells Star Wars models, that are made out of Lego. You can buy ships, characters, nearly everything from the movies can be bought or created yourself. One day, one bright spark decided to make a game about Star Wars, Episodes 1-3. Except, instead of the normal Star Wars games, everything was made of Lego! It was named "Lego Star Wars: The Video Game", and it was a smash hit. So they decided to make a sequel, about episodes 4-6. This is my review of it....

In some ways, Lego Star Wars II is similar to it's predecessor, like it should be, although it does have some interesting new features. Now, you can build and ride vehicles, in the midst of a level, instead of having just "ship" and just "land" levels. Also, there is now a Free Play mode for ship levels. (Free Play mode is when you have completed a level in story mode - the standard mode - but now can select any character to do it with). As well as that, it allows the player to create their own personalized character out of parts of characters that they've already collected/ bought.

In levels, the game play is virtually the same, but with a few welcome changes. Unlike the last game, any character (excluding robots) can build things, instead of just making a Jedi or Sith build things. Some things still need the force to move though. There are now areas where only "Bounty Hunters" or evil characters can enter, this does get annoying sometimes. Characters who use a gun as their weapon, do not just shoot anymore. In very close range, the gun-characters can punch or kick enemies too. This is very helpful in the game. Some characters only punch or kick.

In the old Lego Star Wars, the only thing unlockable (aside from characters, extras and the famous fourth episode level), the new game now allows you to unlock other secret things. Every level still has 10 "minikits" on it, as well as millions of studs (Lego money). You still need to get superkits (so many studs on a level), but now getting one sends you to "True Jedi" status. Hidden on every level now as well, is a red "Power Brick". These unlock cheats (previously called extras) to buy, but they are pretty expensive. If you collect all of a certain thing (excluding Power Bricks - they have their own rewards), like minkits or superkits on the game, then you get rewarded. I won't spoil the surprise. Also, if you collect all of the Bounty Hunter characters, you unlock a new set of levels just for them!

Overall:

Lego Star Wars II is slightly better than it's prequel. I would rate it 9/10, there are just a few minor problems. It is another brilliant game, and I hope that they can make up another. I would recommend it to most gamers, young or old, as long as they are not looking for excruciating detail. Buy it now, or face the power of the dark side of the force! See ya!

LCFC!

On Saturday I went to see my favourite football (soccer) team play. My friend had a spare ticket and he invited me to the game, so, I couldn't refuse. The match started at 3:00 but I went to his house at 2:00 and played some video games for a while. I had my first go on Fifa Street (PS2). I was Brazil, my friend was England. This was my first try but I only lost 5-4! My friend was biting his nails at the end. Is Fifa Street 2 (PS2) a good game? I don't know. Anyway, we played a 2-player on Gran Turismo 3 (I won the race), and then went to the match. I thought that it would be 1-1.

It was an interesting game. We dominated the first fifteen minutes, but then our opposition scored :( We played absolutely terribly until one of our players broke through the defence and....... PENALTY! The penalty was slotted into the bottom corner and levelled the game up - 1-1. After a few wasted chances it ended up being half-time. The second half was so nerve-wracking! Our opposition hit the post three times. Also, their strikers had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper twice but they screwed it up - twice. We had another wasted chance too, right at the end, but then the match ended. It was 1-1. Yay! My prediction was right!

*Slurp*.....*Slurp*

Hey guys, I made redeagle205 drink this disgusting drink (because I spent a lot of neopoints on it), but once again, he was awkard, and decided to refuse. I didn't even bother trying dementedfrog205. Anyway, on the upside, I got a new avatar for the neoboards!

I'm Back!

Hey, I'm back. I wasn't for a while because the new term has just started :( Anyways, back to Neopets, I have been updating my gallery, which full of useless items on the Neopets site that you don't want. If you are a Neopets user then please donate these rubbish items to me. My username is juliancann. If you want to see my gallery, then click here. I hope you like it!

Success!

Two great things have just happened for me on Neopets! The first thing is, after I raided my bank account for some np. I was able to buy the Tiny Umbrella, for my quest. I gave it to the Faerie, and she boosted dementedfrog205's attack power! So afterwards, I began to chat on boards. While on boards, a random event meant that I found a codestone. I am going to sell it in my shop, so that maybe I can gain a few more np! (See picture on left).

Alert! Alert! Faerie Quest!

Yes, I have just received a quest from the mysterious creatures known as faeries, who live in Faerieland, Neopia (see Worlds of Neopia). A Faerie of fire, has asked me to bring her a Tiny Umbrella. I have excepted this quest, hopefully, I will complete it. Unfortunately, on a Faerie Quest, you cannot use the Shop Wizard (a service that searches every shop in Neopia for the item you want). Will I be able to complete this quest? The rewards will be great....

Guilds

A guild is basically a club for people who like a certain thing, for instance: football, or a TV programme. There are lots and lots of different guilds, situated all over Neopia (you can only acess them over one page though). If you are really passionate about something, then a join a guild, crammed with people just like you, or, create one yourself! On a guild, there is a private message board for the members, competitions and even a private poll. I personally think that it is a brilliant idea to join them. Because I like two things quite a lot, I have recently joined a guild devoted to the things that I like. Pokemon & Role Playing. I have joined a guild for people who adore Pokemon Roleplaying.

Contacting Other Users

You are not just isolated all by yourself on neopets, there are many ways to get in contact with other users. Firstly, there are hundreds of boards, ranging on topic from Role Playing (my favourite), to Jelly World! There is also a topic just for beginners. On the boards, you have a little picture or "avatar" next to your post. Some of them are very funny. The picture is my avatar. Also, there is a system on neopets called Neomail (pun of email, I know). You can email, or "neomail" (nm for short). If you want to nm me, my username is juliancann. It can be for almost anything, sadly, some users abuse this :( I am currently carrying on a Role Play story, that I did on a board with another user, over nm. You can neofriend (nf) other users, so that you can give them items, and make auctions just for them! Also on guilds (see next post), there is usually a message board.

Redeagle205 Has A New Friend

Yes, redeagle205 now has somebody else to play with. I have created a Techo (on the left), called dementedfrog205. Sorry about the bad name! Techos love to laugh. They enjoy making others happy by performing acrobatic stunts and telling jokes. They are rarely unhappy and always look on the bright side of life. They do kind of look like frogs don't they?

Shops

There are loads of shops in Neopia, they sell a variety of items, from furniture, to exotic and gross foods. There are shops in every place. Also, you can create your very own shop too. You can sell your items that you have come across on your travels. Or, buy and re-sell items for a profit. Either way, you can make some neopoints. There is also a Shop Till, in which you can collect the neopoints that you have earned. This is a picture of my shop, there are not many items in it, but I still get some neopoints from it!
